Over the past few week we have had lots! Lots of good and great things. And somethings we wish that had not come and wish the outcome was different.
We started helping with the youth group and have had a great time with that, and can not wait to see what the summer brings out of it. I have seen growth in our two girls and myself just in the few weeks that we have had already. The past two weeks we have taken off with the Holiday and tons of Open House this weekend.
But this pass week was a long and tring week. We had a some family news that we are all trying to workout and deal with the best we can and pray daily the health, and healing. Taking the time together as much as we can and doing what is best for everyone.
On Thursday the girls and I sat in the ER for 7 hours waiting on news on a family member in the back. Updating our prayer chain when needed and calling family members. And doing something I'm not good at and that's asking for help! I'm not good at it. And have asked to help many times over the last few days. Come Friday night and have to make my mind up on a few things and not be able to think clearly I knew I needed a mind time out.
On Saturday the girls and I got up some what early and went up to the Church to head out to The Springs with Pastor Layton and some of the youth group. I was able to turn of the part of my brain that was dealing with family and all that happened over the week. We were able to walk around the camp, looking at it. It was raining all day, maybe not the few minutes we were in side eating. :) But being outside, talking to the camp workers and the group that we went with, watching them take part in the games. Even the rain and the wet feet! I left my phone in the van when we first left, and felt back, and miss it. But when we went back I was able to leave it again and not feel so lost without it. It was nice and much needed.
What did I take away from Saturday, outside of The Springs being a great place and lots of fun! I learn that leaving my phone in the van and being in the rain most of the day was just what I needed! So thankful for that!
On a more lighter note I ask the girls what they learn from the day, and this is what they said....That when it rains the fishing master eats ice cream. :)
Welcome to our doorstep! We are a military family and this is away for us to have our friends and family in our house and at our doorstep when ever they like. We are looking forward to sharing our moves with you, big and little moments and just the everyday things that happens. We hope that you find it welcoming and come back often.

All gave some, but some gave all!!
Memorial Day is not just another day. It's not just a long weekend, or a day off, or a time to fire up the grill and have a great time. For some of us that's what we have made it. And I'm sad to say that when I was younger Memorial weekend was the kick off of the camping year!! And sitting at our ice cream shop this friday I watch RV after RV go pass. And how I wish that I was heading out this weekend. Not because of the weekend but because as a family we love to camp.
Memorial Day has so many means to me after be a Marine Wife for 10 years. I have sat in the chapel for a fallen Marine that was from Matthew unit. When Matthew was over seas we had a blackout with no phones calls out. And I remember the place I was when I got the phone call from my KV with the all clear. And the feeling of happiness that came over me, and I remember crying when I got off the phone as I sat on the steps holding out 8 month old Tinker Bell. I cried because I was thankful it was not Matthew, but at the sametime my heart broke for the family that would not get that all clear call.
And Memorial Day our family sits back and remembers all the families who did not get the all clear call. It's for the Dad's that will never hold their baby, the little girl that will grow up without her mom. Grandkids that will never know their Grandpa. It's a day that we take to remember the love ones who gave it all. We remember the families that lost love ones. The other Military men and women that lost friends.
We like to make sure that our girls know the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Here is how we do it. Veterans are anyone who been in the military and we need to give Thanks to them. And Memorial Day we tell them it's not a day it's a name. It's a name of a Military member that no longer has days here on earth. We feel that both days should be everyday.
All gave some, but some gave all!!
All our love and prayers go out to the families that lost love ones, for the babies that will never know the hug of their mom or dad. Thank you!!

Just the start of Summer
It's getting nice here in Michigan and we were able to take a family walk after dinner. The girls were on their bikes and we walk about a mile and was able to stop in to a friends and let the kids play for a few minute. And I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee with a sweet friend.
But we must back up a few months.... Over the last few months I have been working out and trying to get back into the habit of working out, I went from doing a 5k three times a week when we were still in the Marines to nothing over night. And at the start of the new year like most people do said I was going to start back up and get back into shape. As Little Mermaid said to me when I said that I'm a shape right now so what kind of shape did I want to be. LOL!! Love her! I did very well till I got sick. And was down for a week. And got sick with a bad cold just 10 days later and it lasted hard for two full weeks. And is still handing on. That brings us up to tonight, and our family walk after dinner. I was told by Tinker Bell that Little Mermaid was slow and I would not have to run or anything! Well Tinker Bell was not 100% truthful about that. Little Mermaid is doing great on her big girl bike and just let me tell you I did have to run a little. And by the time we got to our friends house that we drop in on tonight I was glad to stop. I feel like I have not workout in months! But they are already asking to walk tomorrow after dinner. It was something that we were able to do all year long in Cali, but not able to in Michigan. So glad that we are able to get out and see town and do something that is healthy as a family. Can not wait to see where I'm at, at the end of summer.
That is something that we are always working on as a family. Trying to make healthy choice and having fun why doing it. We are the parents that will run and play at the park with our kids and if there is no other kids there we play tag at the park and on the playground. So much fun! I have the best in-laws who have played with us before. And have even gotten our soccer coach to play when he stayed with us for a week over the summer. We are all so happy that summer is coming and we will be getting out more and hope to try some new things.
With summer on it's way....I have found myself on Pinterest looking for some new healthy and fun recipes to try out. And before I know it, it's three hours later and I'm no longer looking at food and that's just bad. But that's another blog for another time. :) But I'm looking forward for trying new recipes and letting you all know how it goes. We would love to know what you do with your family for fun to stay healthy and what are some of your favorite summer time meals?
As always Thank you for stopping by our door step you are always welcome to stop by.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. ~ Colossians 3:15-17

Yes Ma'am!
The other day I was able to grab a little lunch with a friend of mine and just have a little bit of time just the two of us. We live in a small town and there is not a lot of place so we ended up at Subway. Not a bad place, when I order my sub the lady making it ask me something and without thinking said "Yes Ma'am" She gave me a nice smile and went on about her job. My friend looked at me and ask how much longer I was going to keep that up, we were no longer in the military and I could stop now.
I was taken back by what she said and looked at her and said never....Why would I stop? Why would I stop being nice and giving respect to others. In the days since then I have taken the time to think about what she had said and why we still do it, even when we do not have to.
We never know what is going on in someones else life and what will come from showing just a little respect to them. And just because it's their job does not mean we can walk all over them. It is something that we shoot for in our house is 100% respect 100% of the time! Our kids work hard at it and I have had many people say how nice it is to have them show respect to others.
Rules for our kids.
1 - When answering a question from someone they know say me... it would look like this. "Yes Mom" an Aunt "no Aunt Sarah" We have told them that everyone must have a title, and if they do not know the person then use Ma'am and Sir.
2 - When going into a place or leaving if someone is coming up to the door they need to order the door for them. At our church you past the door to go down stairs sometimes they say it;s hard to get to class on time. :)
3 - If someone that is of age to have a title needs a place to sit and they have one they are to get up and give them their place. In our house to have a title you have to be able babysit our kids.
4 - Thank you note and cards need to be done in a timely matter.
We also do please and thank you and all that. But these are our big ones for respect. Would love to hear what some of your rules and thoughts on this would be.

My life got flipped-turned upside down
I think Will Smith says it best......Now, this is the story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air!! well maybe not the last line! But in the last year we moved back to Michigan and got out of the Marines and started a new life. We are living back in my home town and finding our new normal. There is some many good things about being back. We have family around us and can see them almost whenever we like. We were able to stay with my Grandma for a few weeks till we were able to find a place to live.

We are still homeschooling and working hard to get things back together the way things should be. We found a Church that we love and have found home in. Hope to be on here more and more. Posting updates on how we are doing and what is up in our life. As we grow in God, family, up and maybe in number. Please come back and see what we are up to

Thanksgiving!!!
Man it's Thanksgiving tomorrow!!! How did that happened?! Last year at this time we were driving to Cali! This year we are having a great dinner with some family and friends out here and going to love the time we get with them.
I sat down with our girls the other day and ask them what Thanksgiving means to them, and what they hold in their hearts...thinking I was going to get no school, or pie something on those lines. No I did not. I got something that made my heart sad and happy all at once. See this will be Eammah's 2nd Thanksgiving without all the family, and last year she did not know that it was Thanksgiving because we were driving. She always had family around. But Jessalla has not. She had both ways. But they both had the same thing to say. They are thankful for our family, and they miss them so much! They are grateful for the time we get with them and the things they learn when we are with them and the things that I pass on to them. They still like the pie! I'm glad to see that they at their ages know what matters and where their time needs to be.
Jessalla is starting to help make Thanksgiving dinner with me just like I use to with my Grandparents. When I was in School we did not get a week off at Thanksgiving, we would get a 1/2 day on Wednesday and I would ride the bus out to my grandparents and help with whatever needed to be done for the rest of the day and then get up early the next morning and help. I learn how to make my Great Grandma Wojciechowski stuffing that way!! It's the one thing that I must have on Thanksgiving, it is the best. And Jessalla shares her mommy love for it, so she started helping me make it. And I'm sure she will learn it just the way I did, just by doing because it's not wrote down!! I think those are the best kinds!! Eammah help in things that only take a few minutes to do :) But I love having my girls in there and helping and doing it with me. We will be making a turkey on Friday, because we are going to family house like we did for years last time we were out here.
We take turns at our house saying something we are Thankful for for each other. And talking about the year and all that we have done, our favorite and sometimes the bad, the sad. We take the time to talk about family, and things that Matthew and I remember from when were kids. This year will be no different just Friday. No Black Friday shopping for us this year, we will be taking in a free movie here on base. Well the girls and I will be, them back home for dinner. We will pull out our Christmas things and get them up. (Matthew told me I had to wait till after Thanksgiving this year) So I will. Saturday morning we all will take in a another free movie here on base a Christmas one. Then starts the crazy and nuts of Christmas!! More on that to come!
Little high lights from the month....Jessalla and Eammah got to see all different Marine uniforms with they Grandma Dixie (I wish I got to go I had a meeting) I had a big birthday 30!! Had a great day, and my loving sister in law gave me a party!! Had a great time at the Birthday Ball! Our guess this year is my favorite one so far!! I could listen to him talk for hours!! Had a great visit with Matthew parents when they were here the last part of Oct, and first little bit of Nov. Nov is a Birthday month for us I have 2 sisters 2 dads and mine....and 2 Aunt, and a Cuz! it's a full month but we love it!
Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and be safe! From our house to yours God Bless you with Love and Family this holiday. Memories that will last a life time.

My "school" for the year
I have shared what the girls would be using and learning about. I still have to post about their goals and whatnot. This year I'm letting Tinker Bell take part a little in that part and it's taking a little longer than it would if she was not. But I think it's good for her. So in the other post I said I would share what was on my list for the year, what I hope to learn and my goals. It's funny to the girls that I still have goals and things that I need/want to learn. But I see what it does to them and hopes that it will make them lifelong learners and see that it does not have to stop just because school is out for the summer, or you have finish school. I think they are seeing that with what I have set up for myself this year!
My Goals for the year - (Some are just for the school year, and others will need a year 365 days to finish) Here the start
First and for-most my Bible and my time with it. Reading each day. The one that I'm thinking I will use for the most part will be Women's Devotional Bible 2 NIV. And with my Bible I will be using A Woman's Guide to reading the Bible in a year a life-changing journey into the heart of God By Diane Stortz
On top of that I will be reading In God We Still Trust a 365-day Devotional By: Dr. Richard G. Lee. I will be taking part in a Bible study on base for the woman here, we will be doing two books this year. The one we have started is called Becoming Spiritually Beautiful - Seeing Yourself From God's Perspective by: Sharon Jaynes. We will not find out the other till the last part of this year or the start of the new year. And then this next summer I will be doing a summer study in my house or a park around here and the book I would like to use is called Preparing My Heart for Motherhood by: Ann Marie Stewart.
I know tat looks like a lot, but there is still more. I have three books that would fall under knowing my Bible more. And will use them as fun reading.
The Top 100 Men of the Bible who they are and what they mean to you today by: Drew Josephs
Women of the Bible - A visual Guide to Their Lives, Loves, and Legacy by: Carol Smith, Ellyn Sanna and Rachael Phillips
The Resolution for Women by: Priscilla Shirer
Here is the list of other books that I would like to read this year and how I think they fit in.
Home School Books
A Field Guide to Home Schooling A Practical Guide for Parents by: Christine M. Field
The Shelter of Each Other Rebuilding our Families by: Mary Pipher, Ph.D.
Teaching Kids about God by: John Trent, Ph.D., Rick Osborne, and Kurt Bruner
Books to Bettering me
The Mom I want to Be - Rising Above Your Past To Give Your Kids a Great Future by: T. Suzanne Eller
Real Moms......Real Jesus Meet the Friend who Understands by: Jill Savage
Walk Strong, Look Up by: Chantel Hobbs
Reshaping It All by: Candace Cameron Bure and Darlene Schacht (Can not wait for her new book to come out)
What To Expect Before Your Expecting by: Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel
Just Lead - A no Whining, No Complaining, No Nonsense Practical Guide for Women Leaders in the Church by: Sherry Surratt and Jenni Catron
Forget the Guilt and Find the Gift a Busy Woman's Guide to Prayer by: Cheri Fuller ( She is another one that I just love, and keep my eye out for)
Fun Books
Grace by: Shelley Shepard Gray
A Quaker Christmas 4-in-1 Collection by: Lauralee Bliss, Ramona K. Cecil, Rachael Phillips and Claire Sanders. This book is a Romancing America book and I love them so if I find time I will grab a few more of them.
Also I said that I could not wait for Candace Cameron Bure new book, also I still have a few of Jill Savage books I need to read. And the Duggar Girls all have a book coming out that I hope to grab when it out. But the ones listed are ones that I have in the house now. I will add some to my christmas list, and will pick some up when I'm done with this list.
Those are just the book I want to read. I still have other goals.....maybe a little much but that's okay. Some of the other goals are....
I'm big time over weight right now, so in the next year I want to lose 40 lbs. I will still have more to lose after that but it's about doing it right, safe, and healthy! If I lose more than great!! If not and it's just the 40 well I did it the right way and I'm happy about that. Another health goal that we have as a family is a family 5k walk/run that they do here on the base! We can not wait! Showing our kids that we need to be healthy and push yourself. This goes with the way we cook and eat to, so another is just watching how we shop and cook try new things. Eat more at home, and make smart choices when we are out.
Money Goal - Put money in to saving and work hard to make sure it stays there. Talk to the girls that there are many things that we would love to have, but very few that we need. And it's okay not to get all that we want. And show them that even Mom and Dad go without and wait to get things that we want. We want to travel and see things and be able to take the girls to different things. Also I want to have money aside for Hearts - at - Home in March and all that comes with that.
Family Goals - Getting back to where we use to be. Making sure that our girls know that after God they are next in line, not a tv show or friends, or our phones. Wednesday night Game nigh, Friday Pizza and Movie. Family Bible time with Matthew at night. Reading Bed Time stories and Yes Tinker Bell can read very well! But I love doing that and do not do it some night and there is nothing that should stop me from doing it. Just getting back in to this is how it is. Getting Back to us. It's a great place to be.
Goals for me - I want to the girls to see that I'm doing my best, and I only want the best for them. That even at my age I try new things. How to treat their Husbands some day, what a wife title means, how to be a Proverbs 31 women in the 2000. How to love them self and others. And most of all how to be a woman of Christ, and show off only their Faith.
My Goals for the year - (Some are just for the school year, and others will need a year 365 days to finish) Here the start
